Day 0 - February 28th 

 Pre-Tour Preparation :

We recommend guests book their own travel between the U.S. and Mexico. The tour officially commences at Mexico City Airport at approximately 12:00 PM on Day 1. For added convenience and peace of mind, consider arriving a day early to allow for any travel delays. If arriving on Day 1, ensure your flight lands no later than 10:30 AM to meet your tour leader and group at the airport by 12:00 PM. We highly recommend staying at the NH Collection Hotel in Terminal 2 of Mexico City Airport on day 0.

 

Day 1 - March 1st

Mexico City to Zitacuaro:

At 12:00 PM, meet Roman, your tour leader, at Mexico City Terminal 2, and embark on a scenic 3-hour journey to Zitacuaro. Upon arrival, check into the charming Hotel Rancho San Cayetano and gather in the hotel's beautiful garden for a trip orientation talk with Roman over a delightful happy hour cocktail. Spend the afternoon at your leisure, exploring the town's quaint streets and immersing yourself in its local culture.

Day 2 - March 2nd

Majestic Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary:

After a scrumptious breakfast at Rancho San Cayetano, prepare for a thrilling full-day adventure to Sierra el Rosario, a breathtaking biosphere reserve and sanctuary for millions of monarch butterflies. Guided by experts, wander through lush forests, spotting unique flora and the mesmerizing monarch butterflies. Indulge in a delightful picnic amidst nature's splendor before returning to Rancho San Cayetano in the evening.

Day 3 - March 3rd

 Discovering Sierra Chincua:

Fuel up with a hearty breakfast at Rancho San Cayetano before setting out early at 8:00 AM for Sierra Chincua, another captivating Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve. Marvel at the awe-inspiring sight of millions of monarch butterflies during their annual migration. Explore the reserve with a guided tour, gaining insights into conservation efforts and the monarch butterfly's life cycle. Conclude the day back at Rancho San Cayetano.

Day 4 - March 4th

Return to Mexico City:

Bid farewell to Rancho San Cayetano after breakfast and journey back to Mexico City. Dive into the heart of the bustling metropolis with a guided city tour right after Lunch, exploring iconic landmarks such as the Zocalo, Templo Mayor archaeological site, Metropolitan Cathedral, and National Palace. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere and consider visiting authentic  Mexico City's iconic cantinas. ( optional )  Check into Hotel Zócalo Central for a comfortable stay.

Day 5 - March 5th

Art, Culture, and Tradition:

After a delicious breakfast Embark on a cultural odyssey with a visit to the Casa Azul, Frida Kahlo's iconic Blue House turned museum. Explore Kahlo's life and artistic legacy before delving into the works of Diego Rivera at the nearby studio museum Anahuacalli. Indulge in a delicious lunch at one of the local markets in Coyoacán before cruising along Xochimilco's picturesque canals, immersing yourself in ancient stories and vibrant traditions. Return to Hotel Zócalo Central for a relaxing evening.

Day 6 - March 6th

Unveiling Ancient Mysteries:

 After breakfast at Hotel Zócalo Central, venture outside Mexico City for a guided exploration of the Teotihuacan Pyramids. Led by an archaeologist, marvel at the grandeur of the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon as you uncover the secrets of this ancient civilization. Enjoy a picnic amidst the archaeological site before returning to Hotel Zócalo Central to savour its vibrant culinary scene and rich history.

Farewell Mexico:

 Conclude your journey with a hearty breakfast at Hotel Zócalo Central before bidding farewell to the enchanting land of Mexico. Transfer to Mexico City Airport for your departure flight, cherishing the memories of your unforgettable adventure.
